Special Olympics Ontario strives to focus its resources on athletes and programs.  Currently 85% of the budget goes directly into the development, promotion and execution of grassroots programs which have the greatest impact on the lives of people with an intellectual disability. 

Special Olympics provides much more than an opportunity to compete in sport.  It provides a chance for Canadians with an intellectual disability to learn new skills, be active and engaged in their communities.  It is this connection and involvement that brings about the confidence and social benefits that distinguish Special Olympics sport programs.
